Student Support Services
EVERY CHILD DESERVES A CHAMPION—AN ADULT WHO WILL NEVER GIVE UP ON THEM, WHO UNDERSTANDS THE POWER OF CONNECTION, AND INSISTS THAT THEY BECOME THE BEST THAT THEY CAN POSSIBLY BE. RITA PIERSON
Becton Regional recognizes that comprehensive and coordinated student support services are critically important for the social, emotional, and character development of students. These services are also important for the development of learning climates that are conducive to student achievement of high academic standards. Student support services foster positive relationships among educators and students, thereby increasing students; attachment to school. They serve as an essential link between students and their families and school resources and community-based health and social services.
Student support services include prevention, intervention, transition and follow-up services for students and families, especially to those who are experiencing problems that create barriers to learning. Direct services are provided by means including education, counseling, consultation and individual assessment. Student support services are a vital part of comprehensive school program success. Information on the effective coordination and delivery of these services is provided below.
