National Honor Society

To be eligible for membership in the National Honor Society, students must meet the following criteria:

• Applicants must be in either 11th or 12th grade
• Applicants must hold a 93.0 GPA or higher
• Applicants must participate in two or more activities/clubs by the end of freshman year, three or more activities/clubs by the end of sophomore year, and four or more clubs/activities by end of junior year
  OR you may have a total of nine activities/clubs accumulated by time of application as a senior applicant
• GPA and class ranking are used only to determine membership eligibility; a high GPA and class ranking does not indicate automatic entrance into the NHS
• Applications must be completed in full and showcase both community and leadership services
• All members must attend all meetings and organized service projects within the NHS
• All members must attend Induction Ceremony and Spelling Bee in order to maintain membership (unless excused absence from school)
• All members must complete at least 10 hours of community service by end of each membership year
• All members must be willing to tutor as needed by their peers through The Becton Tutoring Program
• All members must uphold their pledge to the National Honor Society

The 2021-22 Induction Ceremony will take place on November 18, 2021 at 7:00 pm in the JWPAC.

Meetings will take place on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30 am in the Media Center.

Please take a moment to thoroughly complete the tutoring form (linked in the image below) if you are struggling academically and are in need of a tutor. Please note that prior to requesting a peer tutor, you need to first see your teacher(s) for extra help and speak to your counselor.
