Meet the Vice Principal

Amanda Colangelo, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Colangelo has been a valued member of the Becton Regional High School community since 2008. S he holds both a Bachelor of Arts and Master's degree from The College of New Jersey.

Mrs. Colangelo began her educational career as an Art teacher in Point Pleasant, NJ, where she also served as a track and cheerleading coach.  After relocating to Bergen County, she joined Becton Regional High School as an instructor of fine art. Over the years, she has expanded her teaching portfolio and Becton's curriculum to include photography, fashion, interior design, cultural art, graphic design, and digital art. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in launching the school's state-of-the-art TV studio as the TV/Broadcasting teacher and the creation of BTV, the school's YouTube station that reports monthly news updates and packages. Her expertise and leadership in these fields led to her appointment as the Supervisor of Arts & Communication.

For more than a decade, Mrs. Colangelo has served as the National Honor Society Advisor, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to student excellence and community service. In her capacity as the Coordinator of Student Affairs in recent years, she has significantly contributed to the management of student behavior, the addition of a staff mentoring program, and has served as an advocate for the integration of technology and use of digital tools in education.

In 2023, Mrs. Colangelo was appointed Assistant Principal of Becton Regional High School. In this role, she has been instrumental in developing new programs, introducing new technology tools and fostering an environment that supports both staff and students. She is committed to providing a hands-on and experiential approach to education, ensuring that each student receives the individual attention necessary to achieve positive and successful outcomes.
